Now in the hands of Sascha Neudeck from Vienna, Austria. Sascha took his own photos and recorded his own samples if you'd like to check it out: http://subtlenoisemaker.blogspot.com/2006/12/walking-stick-from-folktek.html ____________________ The walking stick is a part of the filanthropod series. This piece is based on the same ideas and astetic as the growling insect and filantoid in the same series, but we've added controls to give this one more of a drone feel...Activating maveforms and manipulating them to a great extent. The sound possibilities here are astounding! There are two folktek designed buttons and switches on the panel that are the primary activating controls. One is intended to activate waves either as a button or a switch, the other to capture waves. Once a wave is captured there is a button that will allow you to cipher through new waves at random. And we've included a switch that will change the overall texture of the sound. There are 4 knobs to manipulate the texture of the sound to an enormous extent with the very slightest turn of any of them...We've got a power starver knob that drastically changes the way this piece functions, and a gain knob to play it hot or cool. A bright white lamp will indicate the power level and the sound travels out to 1/4" jack. The Growling Insect runs on an included battery pack The housing we've used is a very high quality finger jointed vintage wood case. Sounds on this piece will vary a bit from that of the other in the filanthropod series (filanthropod sounds provided below), but this will give you an idea of the sound texture...The droning sections are more typical of this particular piece and can be manipulated with a broader range. Sounds for you: |
